Google removes 3 popular Android apps. As a result, child user information is collected.
Tech news website TechCrunch reported that Google removed the Princess Salon, Number Coloring, and Cats & Cosplay apps from the Play Store after the IDAC (International Digital Accountability Council) found the app violated Google‘s retention policies.
3 apps of Android have been downloaded on the Play Store as well as 20 million times ever.
The apps mentioned above are based on various Unity, Appodeal, and Umeng software development kits, reportedly collecting Android ID and AAID (Android Advertising ID) data for potential policy violations. Privacy protection and tracking of Google users, especially young users.
Google has said it has taken to remove apps that violate the policy immediately. And is working with various partners to continue solving and preventing these problems.
